We are safe and sound in Pulau Weh which is a diving / snorkeling village way in the very north of Sumatra.
Kind of basic but very nice all the same, the sea water is just like a bath, which is how I like it.
Food is nice, beer expensive, smokes dirt cheap, shower has half salty water, its not that busy but stinking hot 8-).

Below is a pic of the village type place, very relaxed indeed.
Our hut (as shown below) has serious termites, a shelf has collapsed inside this morning and let a couple of million of the little bastards loose inside the cabin.
Too much first thing in the morning and funny at the same time. The hut has a habit of swinging around them poles when we move around………..not a place to be in when a storm hits.
Our bus ride here ended in the city of Bandar Aceh which was hammered during the tsunami in 2004 with over 60,000 people killed.
One story here about the tsunami is that the 'Lamno tribe' living here were famous for having very European looks due to them being descendants from the Portuguese who arrived some time in the 1600's looking for spices.
All their six villages where destroyed, three out of four people in total were killed and all the ones with blue eyes were killed bar one father and son.
Hells bells huh.
The plan is to get the ferry back to Bandar Aceh Tuesday to get flights south and have a look around, its very Muslim but the people are known to be mega friendly.
The scrum of taxi / Tuk Tuk drivers at the buss door on arrival to take us to the ferry showed just how friendly 8-)
Nicki will enjoy covering up for the locals in the heat of the day when we are there............not.
So we have done the swimming and snorkeling here, now doing loads of relaxing before heading away again.
Nicki has gone for the hammock with the e-reader big time as expected.
Our clothes are starting to wear away quickly now so there is shopping list that is getting bigger for Jakarta where we hope we can get anything we need.
